Europe’s longest-running live poker tournament, the Irish Open, heads to the Citywest Hotel in Dublin from Apr. 15 for the 2019 edition.
The Irish Open is steeped in history and has been back to its brilliant best in recent years. Players from all around the world descend on Dublin every year for the Irish Open thanks to the legendary craic. Guinness continually flows throughout the festival, the walls reverberate with the sounds of laughter, and some of the prizes awarded are huge.

Although the Irish Open attracts hundreds of repeat customers, only five players have won the Main Event more than once. Jimmy Langan was the first player to win the Irish Open twice, doing so in 1983 and again in 1988. Joining Langan in the dual title club are Colette Doherty, Mickey Finn, and two Irish legends in Noel Furlong and the late Liam Flood, the latter having a tournament at this year’s event named after him.
